DO NOT DO THIS UNTIL YOU HAVE DISCONNECTED THE "INSIDE WIRING" FROM THE WIRE COMING FROM THE PHONE COMPANY . . otherwise the "ring voltage, which is about 90 volts, will FRY your modem . . a very bad deal.
